Botox Treatment
BOTOX® for cosmetic indications is a simple, non surgical, physician-administered treatment that can temporarily smooth moderate to severe Excessive sweating, Forehead Lines, Frown Lines and Crow’s Feet In people from 18 to 65 years of age. It is the only therapy of its type approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration (US FDA) How do lines form on our face? These lines typically form on our face as a natural consequence of ageing in our mid-thirties and forties. Repetitive use of facial muscles cause them to fatigue and form lines ( frown lines, crow’s feet and forehead lines are the most common)-and these lines make us look much older than what we are. And less attractive. one’s face a relaxed, rejuvenated look. BOTOX relaxes these fatigued muscles, which in turn causes these lines to fade, giving one’s face a relaxed rejuvenated look. Doctors today are trained to give the right quantity of BOTOX at the right sites on the face-with the result that even while the lines fade away, the client continues to retain his/her natural looks and expressions.
BOTOX® is a purified protein complex produced by the clostridium botulinum bacterium. Approved by the United States FDA, BOTOX is the world’s No.1 brand in cosmetic clinics, with 11 million procedures since 2002. One 10-minute treatment—a few tiny injections—and within 7 to 14 days there's a noticeable improvement in moderate to severe lines on your face, which can last up to 4 – 6 months. Individual results may vary. There’s only one BOTOX®. Talk to your cosmetic doctor to see if BOTOX® is right for you! BOTOX can only be administered by a trained registered medical practitioner in a cosmetic clinic. How BOTOX® Works BOTOX® blocks overactive muscles or glandular activity by selectively preventing the release of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine at the neuromuscular junction and temporarily inhibiting the targeted muscle or glandular activity. BOTOX® is administered in small therapeutic doses by intramuscular or intra-dermal injections directly into the affected area, depending on the indication, producing a typically reversible decrease of muscle or gland activity. The therapeutic effect of BOTOX® lasts for 4 to 6 months, depending on the individual person and indication. Over time the nerve inhibition produced by BOTOX® is reversed as nerve endings recover and begin to release acetylcholine again, at which time another injection of BOTOX® may be needed to maintain therapeutic effect.
BOTOX® therapy should only be administered by a trained and qualified physician. In 2002, BOTOX® Cosmetic was approved by the U.S. FDA for the temporary Improvement in the appearance of moderate to severe glabellar lines (the vertical “frownlines” between the eyebrows) in adult women and men ages 18 to 65. The glabellar lines, which often look like the number “11,” can have a negative effect on one’s overall facial appearance by creating a sad, angry, or tired impression. When administered for this use, BOTOX® creates a temporary smoothed and improved appearance of the wrinkle-causing muscles between the brows. In India, BOTOX® was approved for the use in cosmetic indications in the year 2006. BOTOX® is approved to treat hyperkinetic lines like glabellar lines, frown lines and fore head lines on the face and also hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) which is excessive sweating by a normal person. Around the world, BOTOX® has been approved in around 80 countries for treating a wide spectrum of patients.
